    Material

Our Softshell fabric is a gathering of several materials weighing 310 g/m2, composed of:

>> An outer layer: 94% polyester and 6% Spandex ;

>> A medium layer: breathable TPU film, very technical with a high waterproofness on 8000 mm and a breathability on 800 mvp ;

>> An inside layer: bonded micro polar fleece 150 g/m2.

  The mixture of polyester and Spandex gives comfort, warmth, softness and ensures the elasticity and the softness of the garment. The TPU film makes the fabric waterproof, breathable, insulating and ensures a real protection against weather hazards (rain, fine snow and wind).

  Usually used by high level sportsmen in their extreme sport activities, the Coverguard Collection grows with this innovative material in order to offer you all its advantages (insulation, lightness, breathability…) by protecting you at any time in all your professional activities.

  • Signification of « mm »
It’s a measure unity indicating the fabric’s water resistance, calculated by a hydrostatic test made with a water column. The column is filled with water, and the water’s volume creates a pressure on the surface of 1 square inch during a period of 24 hours.
The number of “mm” is equivalent to the height of the water column (measured in mm) which the fabric can support without letting the water pass through the fabric.

  Signification of « mvp »
It’s a measure unity indicating the breathability of a fabric, calculated with the quantity of water vapour which the fabric lets pass through the garment.
A high level of breahtability is essential for an efficient thermal regulation. The Standard ISO11092* is actually used as reference to determine the performances of a textile. It measures the evaporative resistance (the blocking of the breathability).
The lower evaporative resistance of a fabric, less the garment will form a barrier of evacuation of the transpiration.

  *The international standard ISO 11092 indicates the method to determine the thermal resistance and the water vapour resistance, in stationary position of products like textiles, films, coatings, foams and leather, as well as on assemblages of multi layers which are used on garments, duvets, sleeping bags, fillings for seats and similar products. The application of this measuring technique is limited to some maximum values of thermal resistance and water vapour resistance which depends on the dimensions and the construction of the machine (respectively 2 m2.K/W and 700 m2.Pa/W for specification minimums of the equipment to which the present international standard refers to).
